Adding a loved one who has passed to a family photo
For weddings, graduations and family gatherings — how a loved one can be included in the photo, which photos to send, and the two styles families choose.
At weddings, graduations and holidays, the person who is missing is often the one everyone thinks of. Many families ask for a photo with them in it.
Two styles
- Soft, semi-transparent — your loved one appears gently, like a presence watching over the family. It is clearly a tribute, which many families prefer.
- Fully in the photo — they stand or sit with everyone, matched to the light and the clothing, as if they had been there.
Which photos to send
- The family photo — the wedding, graduation or gathering.
- One or more photos of your loved one where the face is clear. Old prints and black-and-white photos are fine — we restore them first. A photo taken from a similar angle and in similar light gives the most natural result.
- A note on where they should be: next to the bride, behind Grandma, in the middle of the grandchildren.
Making it feel right
- Tell us about clothing: “a navy suit like at our wedding”, “his flannel shirt”.
- Ask us to keep their age as you remember them, or as they would be today.
- You always see a preview first and can ask for any changes for free.
Pets too
Many families add a beloved dog or cat. The price is per person or pet added.
